The Mission & Role
Lateration's Mission: Our technologies help police and military forces make better decisions under pressure and operate more effectively in complex situations. Lateration develops next-generation systems that combine field sensors, secure communications, and intelligent data processing.
Your Mission: You make sure our IT simply works, day in, day out. You are the first point of contact for all IT questions on site, take in requests and incidents, resolve them quickly, and keep devices, access, and systems running. This lets our team focus on development. As part of a startup, you are also happy to pitch in when tasks come up to the left and right of IT, and you support 2nd-level topics when needed. What You Will Do
- 1st-Level Support: You handle IT requests via ticket, chat, phone, or in person at the desk, and either resolve them yourself or hand them over with clean documentation.
- Workplaces & Hardware: You set up and manage laptops, monitors, smartphones, and peripherals, and take care of repairs and replacements.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: You create user accounts, assign permissions and licenses, provide devices, and make sure equipment is returned and access is revoked properly when people leave.
- User & Access Management: You maintain accounts, groups, and access rights, and help with password, MFA, and access issues.
- Software & Updates: You install and update software, roll out patches, and keep devices up to date.
- On-Site Network & Infrastructure: You support Wi-Fi, network, printers, meeting rooms, and telephony, and fix simple issues yourself.
- Inventory & Documentation: You maintain the hardware and license inventory and document solutions, processes, and guides for the team.
- Everyday Information Security: You make sure our IT security policies are followed and help with topics such as device encryption, access control, and secure data handling.
- 2nd-Level Outlook: As you gain experience, you take on more complex tasks, such as administering our Linux servers and Proxmox virtualization, networking, or IT projects.
Your first 5 months – What You’ll Be Proud to Have Achieved
- You know our IT landscape, processes, and contacts, and you are the go-to person for IT questions on site.
- You handle most 1st-level requests independently and reliably.
- You have independently onboarded and offboarded employees, including devices, accounts, and access.
- You have improved or documented at least one recurring process, for example a guide, a checklist, or a clean inventory.
- You have tackled your first 2nd-level topics together with experienced colleagues.
Who We Are Looking For
- Education: Completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration (Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration), a degree in an IT-related field, or a comparable qualification.
- Initial Experience: First hands-on experience in IT support or system administration, for example from vocational training, a working-student job, or an internship.
- Technical Foundations: Good knowledge of Linux administration, experience with Proxmox VE, basic knowledge of Windows, and a foundation in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi) and user management.
- Service Orientation: You explain technical topics clearly, stay friendly even when requests pile up, and keep the big picture in view.
- Diligence & Structure: You work reliably, document carefully, and handle sensitive data responsibly.
- Willingness to Learn: You want to grow and take on more responsibility in 2nd level step by step.
- Languages: Excellent German and good English, written and spoken.
- Clearance: Due to the nature of our work, you must be eligible for a German security clearance (SÜ2/Ü2). Generally, this requires German citizenship or long-term residency within EU/NATO countries.

- Mission with Real Impact: Your work enables our team to build the systems that protect police and military personnel in the field.
- Exciting Technical Environment: You get to know an IT environment with high security requirements.
- Strong Team & Collaboration: Short decision paths, close collaboration, and a team that values reliability over politics.
- Flexible & Supportive Environment: Flexible working hours and a strong team culture.

About us
Lateration builds technology where failure is not an option.
We don't develop theoretical concept studies: We build field-ready systems that give armed forces an unfair tactical advantage. As a VC-backed defense tech startup headquartered in Munich, we deliver the communications and positioning backbone for critical defense programs. Our hardware and software ecosystems secure operational superiority under intense electronic warfare conditions: from GPS-denied navigation and tactical mesh networks to precise friend-or-foe identification. We are scaling our team from 40 to 70+ specialists and are looking for people who take full ownership at the system level. We don't need seat-fillers — we need builders who solve complex problems and bring uncompromising functional maturity directly to the field.
